本作は宝島社「『このミステリーがすごい！』大賞」の関連作品をドラマ化する「このミス」大賞ドラマシリーズの第3弾。七尾与史によるデビュー小説を原作にした「死亡フラグが立ちました！」は、小関演じる冴えない都市伝説ライター陣内を主人公にしたドタバタコメディミステリーだ。陣内が廃刊危機の雑誌を救うため、ターゲットを24時間以内に必ず殺すという完璧な殺し屋“死神”を追うさまが描かれる。陣内とバディを組む破天荒な天才投資家・本宮に塚地武雅（ドランクドラゴン）が扮した。
