《外来媳妇本地郎》是广东广播电视台拍摄的以粤语为主要语言的一部情景喜剧，描述了广州老城区一个有着四个儿子的大家庭，娶了天南海北的四个外地媳妇，由于生活习惯和文化背景的差异，产生了一系列的喜剧故事。这些喜剧故事无一例外都来自于生活，有着鲜活的时代特色，因此，外来媳妇本地郎又可谓是一部紧贴生活、反映时代现状的情景喜剧。在剧中，三代同堂的大家庭不但适合于表现各年龄层次的故事，同时，由于人物关系的多线条设置，围绕着康家一批核心人物，又延伸出更多的次主要人物，从街坊、到外省乃至外国的亲朋、到广州的新移民、闯荡广州的外地人，无所不包，无所不能包。外剧正是有了这样的延宕性和扩展性，才使得它的故事丰富多彩，使人倍感亲切。
