Although technologies that can effectively combat SYN flooding already exist, there is no standard remedy for TCP implementation. You can find different implementations of different solutions to protect the application layer and network layer in today's operating systems and devices. This paper describes this attack in detail and looks forward to and evaluates the anti-SYN flooding methods currently applied to end hosts and network devices.
