If this process is performed by a large number of controlled hosts, the system will not be able to process normal data, resulting in denial of service.

You can find different implementations of different solutions to protect the application layer and network layer in today's operating systems and devices. This paper describes this attack in detail and looks forward to and evaluates the anti-SYN flooding methods currently applied to end hosts and network devices.
