讲述了主人公功夫龙和小戏班的伙伴们在经历了一系列困难和考验之后，最终战胜邪恶，保护小镇百姓的故事。人间有个叫和谐镇的世外桃源，这里的人们过着神仙般快乐的生活，然而小镇百姓都被“欲、恨、愚”三种煞气所感染，失去良心。在异度空间的功夫龙看见小镇所遭受的灾难，决定要解救小镇的百姓，恢复小镇的祥和与安宁。于是，功夫龙来到小镇，认识了戏班班主和夫人以及四个弟子，因不通人情世故而上演了一幕幕笑料百出的故事。
