1947年，刘邓大军在鲁西南歼敌九个半旅，继续向大别山挺进。敌军长白建业欲与我军决战，分兵两路在汝河两岸北追南截。刘邓大军胜利到达大别山与当地游击队会师，军中一个叫来弟的姑娘当上了方家坪的区长。旅长方军找到了分别15年的母亲……
