少林寺众僧立志反清复明，至善禅师（姜大卫）前往峨嵋山取得炼钢之法和铸造各种兵器、暗器的图样之后，匆匆赶回少林，却遇上清兵火烧少林寺，寺中众僧大部份血战而死。至善前往南方，肩负起重建少林寺的重任，一面化缘募捐，一面结识江湖豪杰，并收录李锦纶（徐少强）、童千斤（吴杭生）等热血青年为弟子……
