故事讲述一位被名作照明所俘虏的女性的故事。名作照明是主要在欧洲发展起来的灯具，超越室内装饰达到了艺术品领域的照明器具。讲述主人公・幸本遥（黑岛结菜）在宫城长大，是渔民的女儿。在东日本大地震中，失去了家和很多朋友。爱开玩笑、总是笑着的母亲的笑容消失了。 “我们为什么幸存下来呢?”。在临时住宅苦闷地生活了1年后，遥被地震后第一次捕鱼回来的父亲的渔船在漆黑海水中点燃的渔火所拯救。不久后来到东京的遥，在汇集了名作照明的专卖店中被“某一束光”所吸引，开始在店里工作。谢绝那些“照明之类的什么都好的客人”。取而代之的是，他感到自己的使命是服务那些从心底寻求光明的人，以减轻痛苦，并通过照明来丰富他的生活。每天都有一群个性丰富的人来光顾。遥将照明的魅力传达给人们，在寻找适合这些人的照明的过程中，人们的人生不断被“光”所照亮。而她自己也通过无数的相遇，克服心灵的创伤，找到了希望的光芒。
